Over 2000 miles from where we first photographed the Pilot last month on a moonless night, we finally caught up with the Honda engineers during daylight hours and are able to provide you the first real look a Pilot prototype. Of course, at this stage of the game, Honda makes sure that not too much is exposed, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to take one look at the grille and the body shape and size to figure out just what we’re looking at. Not much is know about the revamped Pilot, but sources close to Honda are expecting a 3.8-liter V6 to be offered.

For what it's worth, we're not sure where the 3.8L figure is coming from, but we wouldn't expect the Pilot to have anything larger than the MDX's current 3.7L. Diesel should be in the mix, perhaps not at launch time but it should most likely be available within a year or two following the launch.
