One of the editors at WindingRoad recently attended a press event for the European Civic Type R (how'd we miss that invite??) and in the course of chatting up an R&D engineer from Tochigi learned that Honda is allegedly planning to bring the Civic Type R stateside in 2010. According to the story at WindingRoad, the vehicle we'd get would be more like the Japanese market Civic Type R (a sedan, which is due to be introduced pretty soon) and not the European-market hatchback.

All we can say is "Bring it On!". But don't bother bringing us a half-baked Type R. We want all the hard-core goodies and no detuned motors or deleted Limited-slip diffs, please. Oh, and we presume they are referring to 2010 in the calendar sense (as opposed to model years), since 2010 should be the final (model) year of the current Civic body style.
