The RSX type S won Car and Driver's May 2002 Sports Coupe Comparison. It beat out the Celica GT-S (2nd, tie), Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS (2nd, tie), Hyundai Tiburon GT (4th), and VW New Beetle Turbo S (5th). It won by a healthy margin. The criteria (standard for C&D) are Engine, Transmission, Brakes, Comfort, Handling, Ride, Ergonomics, Features, fit/finish, styling, value, FUN FACTOR.
