Brenda Priddy's network of spy photogs caught this 2007 MDX undergoing hot weather testing out in the desert and now we get to catch an early glimpse of what the interior's going to look like.
There were a total of 13 photos offered to us; one is the interior photo shown here and the rest were exterior shots. Thanks to the concept that was shown at the New York Autoshow, everybody already has a pretty good idea of how it's going to look, so we just purchased one of the exterior shots. If you really want to see what a disguised prototype looks like, a different, somewhat fuzzier set of photos appeared on autospies.com and probably elsewhere. Interestingly, the interior photo that we purchased looks almost identical to the shot shown at autospies.com, but upon closer inspection they are in fact different photos. In ours you can see at the very bottom of the photo there appears to be some sort of storage slot (or something with a sliding cover) on the side of the driveshaft tunnel.
Since I had to scale down the photo before publishing it here, you can't read the lettering on the sidewalls of the tires, but I can tell you that it appears that this test mule was wearing all-season 255/55-R18 Michelin Pilots. From the interior shot, the lower portion of the stereo stack appears to the be the DVD player and controls for the Rear Entertainment system. The logos beneath the DVD slot read WMA, MP3, DVD Video, and some sort of Dolby logo. The 6-CD/DVD changer slot for the audio unit shows logos for DVD Audio, DTS, Compact Disc Audio, and ELS surround.
