Phew, its early afternoon and we're already dragging. Most of the day was spent with the Honda and Acura folks. After shooting some photos of various cars and parts in the early morning, we visited the Honda/Acura display for their press conference.
The featured speaker was again John Mendel, who talked about the tuner cars on display and Honda's excitement about the new Si. We were then treated to the reveal of the new Concept Si.
From there we went outside to visit Honda's hospitality tent where we were treated to lunch and a brief autocross drive of the new Si HFP package. The HFP package is a definite improvement, at a suggested retail price of $3880 for everything (including body kit, springs, dampers, 18" wheels, and sport muffler), the price for the performance mods is very reasonable - although we have to say that our Project Si handles better (and rides worse).
I was also lucky enough (or unlucky enough, depending on your viewpoint) to be interviewed by Tommy Kendall of the Speed Channel. We spoke about the new Si and I gave them my driving impressions of the new car. Don't know if that segment will make broadcast, but keep an eye out over the next 4-6 weeks.
Now that we've posted this update, we're going to cruise the floor and try to see what else is new before heading over to the Honda reception, where we expect to down our share of beverages, in a responsible fashion, of course.
