TOV Members '93VTEC_01' and 'Moto' have thoughtfully supplied us with another set of photos and a quick report from today's practice sessions:
93VTEC_01: I have uploaded the pics from today to the gallery. Some are a bit blurry, due to my inferior telephoto lens.
I have included couple of pics of a McLaren and a Toyota (to compare them with the BARS) at the apex of the hairpin turn. If you look at the front wheel you will notice that compared to the BAR cars, McLaren and Toyota, as well as the rest of the cars, are running their brakes with bigger ducts. At least that is my conclusion (hence, no glowing brakes). Jock Clear did mention yesterday, that the brake cooling was never a problem for BAR. I suspect that for that reason the team is running smaller cooling ducts on the cars. It could be argued that they were only testing the smaller ducts. The question is: Would a hand full of laps tell the team how those brakes would fare in the race. Hardly any teams had glowing brakes at the apex of the hairpin (which was visible from our GS). Taku is on top of the sheets today. That suspicion of slightly higher revs for him might not be just a suspicion. :-)

To express our gratitude to '93VTEC_01' and 'Moto' for their efforts, a Temple of VTEC golf shirt is on the way to each of them.
