Here's a brief video of a live crash test (1.87MB MPEG1) or try this NEW VERSION with slow-motion (3.66MB MPEG1) demonstration that Honda staged for members of the US press. This took place at Honda's state of the art G-CON facility in the R&D center of Tochigi. The demonstration involved a Honda Pilot smashing into a brand new 2004 Civic Coupe EX, both cars traveling at 30mph (50kph). The Civic only had 2 miles on the odometer. While the Civic was totalled, its "passengers" sustained non-life-threatening injuries, making a strong statement for Honda's commitment to safety.
The TOV also drove practically every current Honda Type-R vehicle (including the NSX-R) while at Tochigi! Needless to say, Jeff had an absolute blast with them all. Stay tuned for more information from the TOV's trip to Tokyo.
