Temple of VTEC Rumors and News - Hondata launches fuel system upgrade kit for FK8 Civic Type R

First announced at the 2019 SEMA Show, Hondata has today released their FK8 Civic Type R fuel system upgrade. For Civic Type R owners who have been going through the process of performance upgrades to the 2.0L turbocharged K20C1 engine, it doesn't take long to figure out that the factory fueling system doesn't offer a ton of headroom in terms of capacity. To remedy this situation, Hondata has developed an upgrade kit (retail price $2850) consisting of a low pressure fuel pump, a high pressure fuel pump, upgraded fuel injectors, and the necessary fuel lines. This kit increases the fueling capacity by 24% and requires a Hondata Flashpro tool and software to install and use it.

We ordered a kit from the first batch and just received it. Installation and evaluation will happen in the coming days.

This upgrade consists of hardware and software components designed to deliver 24% more fuel flow over the stock fuel system. It enables the Civic Type R to take the next logical step for a reliable, well engineered easy to install and thoroughly tested power increase.

This kit is a plug and play direct bolt on using the stock fuel system. Everything can be returned to stock.

The Hondata fuel system has been tested on multiple vehicles for over a year and thousands of daily driven miles. Multiple calibrations are included starting with an increase of 90 lb-ft torque and 57 hp over stock with intercooler and high flow cat. On a vehicle with a turbo upgrade we have tested to well over 500hp.
