These photos were emailed to us by a long-time contributor to the TOV, but there was no information attached at all. A few clues within the photos sent us looking for some cities in the frozen mid-west portion of our great country, and with the help of street view on Google Maps, we pinpointed the location to St. Paul, MN. We would credit the photographer, but we don't know to whom to assign credit, so for now, we're crediting "anonymous".
Other than that, the key takeaway from these photos seems to be that there's a bit less camo hiding the TLX's taillights compared to prior TLX prototypes that were caught in the wild. It appears that this taillight design could possibly be a new signature for Acura, as the MDX seen here looks to also use a very similar design. This would be a departure from the claw shaped lamps found on the 2020 RDX. Also, from the looks of the two vehicles seen in these photos, we're going to guess that these are both Type-S trims.
There's been nothing officially announced by Acura concerning the timing of any release details on the TLX or MDX, but unless the COVID-19 situation changes plans drastically, we are expecting to see a production prototype of the 2021 Acura TLX during the week of the 2020 New York Auto Show.
UPDATE: We heard back from the person who submitted these photos. They were apparently posted in a Facebook group.
