GAC Honda (a joint venture between Honda and GAC automotive in China) has just launched a new BEV for the Chinese market. Based upon the HR-V, the VE-1 features a 53.6kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack, a 120kW (160hp) electric motor, and 280nm (206lb-ft) of torque.
If we're reading the graphics properly, this results in a 0-50kmh time of under 4s and a NEDC range of 401km.
With a subsidized starting price of 159800 yuan (~US$22620), it seems to be a pretty good value.
It would be nice to see something like this offered stateside for our EV enthusiasts.
