SOLAR DERBY EVENTWill be held on July 22nd, 2016 at 12:00PM at University Circle
Motorcars Honda is proud to host the Solar Car Derby at University Circle this Friday, July 22nd at 12pm. Children ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 12 will race solar powered derby cars that they’ve built from kits provided by Motorcars Honda. These two age groups will both be eligible to win the grand prizes, a new Apple iPad Mini! The event at Wade Oval will be child friendly and include Ice Cream, Games on the Green, Bounce Houses, Bubbles, Balloons and more.

Motorcars Honda uses solar panels that produce 70% of the dealerships overall energy needs. Coupled with high-efficiency A/C and heating systems, LED lighting, and use of recy- cled materials contribute to completely offset their carbon footprint. “Alternative energy technology and conservation techniques help to reduce our carbon footprint and it’s effect on the environment are important for our grandchildren’s future. We need to do everything we can to put them in a position to succeed”, stated Chuck Gile.
Last Wednesday BP announced at University Circle that Motorcars Honda has officially been certified as the first Carbon Neutral Award recipient in the world, reaffirming its commitment and drive as pioneer in the race toward more environmentally friendly businesses.
In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for August 12th 2016 at 1:00PM. _________________________________________________________________________
