We finally have spy shots showing the new 2017 Civic Si Coupe undergoing testing. We can't wait to drive it! Notes below are from KGP:
New Photos: Interiors and Exteriors. 6-speed manual, carbon fiber dashboard trim, alcantara door trim, well-bolstered bucket seats, and red stitching confirmed.
We caught this new, hotter Honda Civic Coupe prototype sporting a more aggressive front-end, and a new, central rear exhaust. By all accounts, this is our first look at the 2017 Honda Civic Si Coupe.
The rumor mill suggests that the Si will get a detuned version of the Civic Type R’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, reportedly good for 220-230 hp. This prototype also suggests that, along with a toned-down powerplant, the Civic Si’s look will be similarly tamed. The massive rear wing spotted on Type R prototypes over the last year is nowhere to be found on this prototype. The Si will get a central rear exhaust like the Type R, but instead of the R prototypes’ bonkers tri-tip exaust design, the Si gets a more elegantly-styled central exhaust formed into a slim and sleek wide exhaust tip.
The Civic Si Coupe is expected go on sale in early 2017, with an auto show debut possible at this Fall’s LA Auto Show, or next January’s Detroit show. |
