Somebody just emailed these to us with the following info:
Hello,
Saw this camouflaged van on the 405 yesterday near Torrance. It appeared to be getting off the freeway close to where American Honda is in Torrance. No idea if this is even a Honda but thought you might find it interesting or know more. |
Yes, in fact, we do find this interesting. This very well could be a mule for the upcoming Odyssey, which is set to launch in less than 12 months. We don't know a whole lot about it yet, but we're guessing it will likely see the new direct-injection 3.5L V6 that recently debuted on the 2016 Honda Pilot, and it also wouldn't surprise us to see the 9-speed automatic transmission finding its way into the top trim levels, with the lower trims making do with the 6-speed automatic. Will it be tuned for the same 290hp as the Pilot? We don't see why not. Otherwise it appears that the styling changes won't be too dramatic, though it wouldn't surprise us if the kinked belt line of the current model disappeared. We would anticipate LED headlights and possibly taillights being a part of the mix as well.
