Honda has purchased a production license for an automated manual transmission developed by Antonov Automotive Technologies. Although the Antonov AMT may not be as attractive to car enthusiasts as Borg Warner's Dualtronic (recently introduced by Volkswagen - Audi as their DSG or Direct Shift Gearbox) its' compactness and low manufacturing cost it may suit the Antonov AMT to the smaller vehicles in Honda's lineup.
