This clear picture showed me one thing - A Japanese automaker has finally figured out a key point to what makes a design "Euro" - body lines. Instead of having an empty, bland, boring, flat side profile, Acura stylists have gicen the TL a stong character line through all the side profiles that doesn't try to pass off as just a crease or run the length of the car. (very reminiscent of the curretn 3/5-Series and the past gen 7) At the same time it doesn't do weird sweeps (see: current Accord/Camry) or go overboard (see: Z4).

I really like it. Now lets get these designers on all other Honda projects and fire the rest. :-)

Maybe we should fire these guys and give the rest of them raises. "Euro" elitist appeal, BWAH, you can have it my friend. Maybe Honda designers could "get" that sweet Skoda or Lada look, aren't they "euro" too?
I do like the new TL, but disagree that anyone has to bow down at the altar of the Euro (read:German)automakers.

Amen to that brother. Just look at the new BMW styles... like the Z4 and 7-Series... these are cars only a mother (or the designer) can love. There are good qualities to Japanese styles, and it would be sad if they simply copy-cat anything Euro.

I like the design overall, but hate the rear end...the picture really doesnt show too much of it, but from what i can see it ends abruptly just like the TSX. the part behind rear fender is a clear Audi A6 rip off too.

Nothing elitist about it. When most of the Japanese makes claim to go for the "Euro-look", and none of them get it right (often looking like yet another Japanese egg design), it's very refreshing to find a Japanese car that aimed for the Euro-classic look and get it.

I'm not claiming that we need Euro-inspirations running around looking like Val Satis' or heaven forbid like Multipla's. Those are European too. But the classic elegant European look is something the Japanese have been aiming for, and with the next TL they finally get it.

you may hate it, but the abrupt ending is claimed to aid aerodynamics (at least on the TSX - i would assume the same principals apply universally), so form follows function to some point.

Personally I like pretty much everything I see, though if i had to nitpick, the strong character line seems a little over the top.
