I love the look, but I am having a hard time figuring out how big this vehicle is. Will it be on the order of the Civic in terms of interior space? How many people will it fit? Is this larger than the classic Insight?

99.5% of the time it will be just me, but the other 0.5% of the time I will have to drive 15mins with two car seats and one very small booster seat. It may actually be one car seat and two very small booster seats by the time I buy this.

Size is official, don't remember where I saw it but it's somewhere on the Paris PR's.

Exterior wise it's:
L : 4,375 mm (172.2 in.)
W: 1,695 mm (66.7 in.)
H: 1,425 mm (56.1 in.)

Interior wise this vehicle seems to be developed over a platform similar to the Fit, so I would hope for tremendous roominess for its size.

How does it stack up interior size wise to the Civic Sedan and the Fit? Is there any hope that the interior will be larger than the Civic Sedan (particularly back seat accommodations)?

For comparison, here are the Prius exterior dimensions:

L: 175 in.
W: 67.9 in.
H: 58.7 in.

Hopefully they'll be able to match the rear seat room despite being 2.8 inches shorter. The difference in height is a bit surprising too.

Well, I don't think they'll manage to get more lateral room because there isn't much you can do there, but certainly the Civic chassis isn't optimized for roominess:
- the front is way bigger than required by the tiny 1.3L engine,
- the rear double wishbone suspension eats quite a lot of space.

I know nothing about it, but from what we've seen, I would expect the Insight to be built in a platform derived from the Fit one (like the Euro-Civic hatch), i.e. with:
- the gas tank under the front-passenger seats
- rear torsion beam.
If that's the case, and given the fact that everything in this car has been optimized for the hybrid power-plant, I would expect it to be way roomier than the Civic.
