If the Insight was paddle shifters then I may pass on the new Fit and wait for this beauty in the Spring.

How does the Fits 1.5 compare vs. the Insights 1.3 + IMA in terms of performance?

OK, now after since looking at the photos it will not have paddle shifters, what a shame because it would have added at a bit "fun factor" to the transmission.

unless they add a "sport 7-speed" stepped mode (as was offered in the past version Jazz/Fit in certain markets) there's probably no need for paddle shifters since it will most likely be equipped with the same CVT transmission that's found in the Civic Hybrid. Hopefully Honda will have the sense to offer it with a manual transmission as well...

It would be nice, but didn't you comment on this back in 2005 when the current Civic hybrid came out? Because of the "new" IMA systems electric only mode they couldn't make it with a manual??

Even then, remember this is supposed to be the 'family car'. This would probably be a better feature for the CR-Z. My bet is the CR-Z will be a 3-door version of the Insight with a sportier suspension and interior. With less weight, Honda could bump the HP and have the same MPG as the Insight.
