That guy is good. I should try driving with loafers next time. Is he famous?

Ayrton Senna? Of course he's not famous. He's just some bum who drove an F1 car. I heard he had a couple of victories under his belt or something like that.

It would be very upsetting if Honda started cutting manual transmissions out of their products. I believe DSG is technically superior but it takes away from the visceral involvement of driving. Plus Honda has a reputation for making the best manual switchgear in the business so that kind of makes me think they won't just jump ship.
I've owned a new Honda product every year for the past 6 years and each of them has had a manual transmission (and not by accident either). It has been nirvana for me because I could get these wonderfully engineered cars and have my choice of a manual transmission even on the highest trim levels. If that choice goes away, I might, too, when my lease is up.

Well if all you manual buyers would purchase a new Acura instead of driving 03 accords and such we might still have manuals...the problem is that in a turn and earn allocation you cannot afford to have a car sit 90 days and eat up floor plan and intrest! I drive a manual and will only drive one but most of the Acura buyers are in Major markets where their wives do not want a clutch in traffic. Such a shame

Manuals sit on the lot? Man.. I don't think I have even seen a MT sit on the lot. I always ask sales men if they have trouble selling MTs and they always say they can't keep them on the lot but that they don't get them often. Duh!! Order more then!! I think if they did have MTs sitting on the lot then they would sell more. Not everyone is so hard core about MTs. There is absolutely no way in hell I would by an auto/SMG/DSG or any other electronic box. I will walk out if they don't have one, or have them locate one for me. Most people go in with the intentions of getting a MT but when they don't have any on the lot they just settle for an auto. So they just go down in the books as another auto buyer. Dealers need to keep statistics on the number of people that come in and ask for a manual and then walk out when they don't have any or settle for an auto.

When purchasing my MT TSX, I had to go out of my way to find one. There were only two (of six) dealers in my state which had one. I ended up having to drive 120 miles just to pick it up after reaching a sales agreement over the phone.

The local dealers lost a sale because they didn't have one. I'm sure many people who would have bought a MT didn't because they weren't willing to put out the effort that I had to. On top of that, I paid the same price, even though a MT is cheaper to manufacture, so honda made more gross margin on that sale.
