I'm pretty sure this will be the "Accord platform" of Acura. The RL, TL etc will eventually be based off modified versions of the AASC. This will take away the critisims of those that say Acuras are just fancy Hondas. Instead Acuras DNA will be associated with a high performance and technology.

My only problem is that there should be no association with this
car/concept and the NSX. This is not anything like the NSX because its not MR. What was so great about the NSX? What seperated it from the Supras and Skyline GTRs? What made it exotic? The twin turbo FR Japanese sports cars were one and the same. The NSX was different and no Supra fan boy could say much against it once you point out not only MR but N/A and everything else that made it special at that time.

As all these years went by while awaiting news of the new NSX the thought never crossed my mind that it could change to a FR AWD setup. Thats a completly different car. I even thought of a V10 as a super long shot a pipe dream but FR never entered the mind. Thats a different vehicle and one that we all want especially in sedan form so if they use this new platform for future Acuras that would be great but I would still hope for a new NSX one day.

That's precisely my take on it.

I think many have taken the 'NSX sucessor' thing too literally.

The NSX is irreplaceable.
