I would be VERY VERY carefull when doing this to your rsx. This NOT , something I would even dream of doing again. I have NOT done this to my rsx. But had the same thing done to my 99 civic Si 2 yrs ago. Let me explain what I am talking about. I orderd the ITR rear sway bar for my 99 Si, same fit and everything. Again the ITR bar was 22mm that I installed. It just needed bigger bushings C clips. I installed it very much the same way described on here. After about 4 months of havin the thing come loose I got it on tight, and it seemed as if it was working ok for a few months, till i hit a couple of small pot holes in the roads and i heard horriffic sounds. The bar lItterly ripped the C holders from the under body of the car!!! When I looked under the car to get a good look, It looked like the body of the car where the cross control arms bolt on by where the stablizer bar mounted up, ripped like paper! The deal is when you put that rigid of a bar on a stock body and stock mounting points on an rsx or a civic you have to have reinforce the mounting points somehow because the metal simply isnt thick enough on hondas. This is why you spend the few extra 100 and get a kit to reinforce the mounting points and DONT do it this way or you may pay a BIG price in damages to your car! There is a reason honda did not put a 22mm bar on your car, more than likley there lesser reinforcements in metal in US then the JDM R rear underbody. IMO the author should be liable for ANYone who does this and it tears up there car cause he doesnt know what hes talking about. Any honda/acura dealer will tell you this as well. Please email me if you have any questions, ivtecboy@yahoo.com

This is true in the previous generation Civic/Integra chassis. On the DC5 chassis, however, the mounting points and structural reinforcements are the same as the DC5R chassis.

I'll gladly inspect and take pictures for anyone who is concerned about this. I have had absolutely no problems with this component on my car for the entire time it has been installed, and this includes several autocrosses on very sticky race tires, not to mention aggressive street driving. I'm gearing-up for another season of autocrossing and track events and again anticipate no problems with this setup.

Regards,
Ryan

This is just a silly post ("the author should be liable...cause he doesn't know what he's talking about"). There are probably hundreds of people on Clubrsx.com who have done this mod and not one has had any problems with it. In fact, it is probably the most effective, inexpensive change you can make to improve the RSX's handling.

Exactly. I just removed the JDM bar since I'm preparing my car for sale and putting it back to stock. There are no problems whatsoever.
