for all of us who couldnt get the si with navi here is an option. the new pioneer avin z1 is set to come out early spring. i think this is the best dvd nav system available. its flush with the dash so it makes it look stock. it also has bluetooth in it for thoe of yous who want bluetooth.. its a bit pricey but i will be buyin this for my si heres a link to check it out

It looks pretty sweet. I definately like how the Pioneer units look over the other brands... but that's pretty expensive. $2200 + another $100 for XM + installation. That, and I'd seriously miss the actual buttons on the unit. It's nice not having to take your eyes off the road searching for the right button by feel. This one just has that tiny row of buttons at the bottom. Probably a better overall system than the stocker, though.

I wonder if you could get the steering wheel buttons to work with it. It doesn't mention any sort of steering wheel adaptor, but it does have a steering wheel remote you can buy.

There are steering wheel control adapters from PAC.

I know there's adaptors for the car, but it doesn't appear that the Pioneer unit itself has an input for such an adaptor. PACs website only lists Alpine, Kenwood, and JVC in their compatibility section. Am I wrong?

I've had my eye on this unit..... but after seeing the night interior pics in the other post, I'm concerned with the button illumination clashing. Waiting to see it in person but I don't think anything aftermarket will have that bright white button backlighing.

I'm on the fence between something more feature rich from the aftermarket (like the z1) or just sucking it up and installing the honda navi myself just like type X did on some other forums.

If the factory unit wasn't so expensive it would be a no brainer. By the time you get all the parts and pieces from honda it's close to 3grand. There's definitly something to be said for the integrated factory setup though.. and less chance for some punk to jack with your car and destroy your dash because he wants your aftermarket deck. I used to do custom installs way back in the day and have seen way too many interiors ruined over someone stealing a stupid CD player.

I have a Alpine IVA D310 installed in my car right now, Its got the slide out 7" screen. I would like to sell it and but a indash 6.5" screen (no slide out) Any one intrested in buying it? The price recently came down on them. I would be willing to sell it for well under MSRP. Its only 2 months old and has only been used for about 2 weeks. Car has been in the garage most fo the time and was isntalling the aftermarket speakers for a few weeks so it hasent been used much at all. Only reason I want the indash unit is I like the look beter its actaully has less options than the one I have now. e-mail me at jiah.quayle@maryl.com if intrested.
