This just came up this morning. The link goes to the Inside Line section of Edmunds.com

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=107644

It mentions that this essentially is close to what we will be getting as the 2008 Acura TSX. What strikes me as interesting or perhaps speculation is the claim that their sources have stated Honda will use a 2.2 four-cylinder engine possibly a version of the one in the S2000. I'm not sure how reliable Edmunds is but there is no mention of whether or not the new TSX would be normally aspirated or turbo charged. I can't see an Acura TSX coming out with a smaller displacement engine if it isn't somehow boosted. After having had the TSX for a couple of days from the dealership I lamented the fact that there simply wasn't enough torque. I'm sure other people might disagree. Could this mean that we might be seeing the first application of a turbo in a production Honda/Acura model stateside?

It does make sense if you read the description of this particular setup:
"The 2008 TSX is rumored to get a high-performance, dual-overhead-cam, 2.2-liter, four-cylinder engine — perhaps a version of the 237-horsepower unit that powers the S2000 roadster — mated to a six- or seven-speed gearbox."

If true, my pleas have been answered completely, That is the engine for the TSX. The S2000 2.2 has enough torque to move the TSX as good if not better than the present engine plus it will give it the exhiliarating top end which it now lacks. The s2000 engine does not have to be a screamer, the VTEC system can be adjusted for more torque without significantly affecting the top end. A TSX so equipped should perform powerwise at least as well as a TL (with less torque of course) without losing any of the TSX's snappy handling. The icing in the cake would be AWD. Is so equipped, there is no doubt in my mind that would be the car I would buy when my TL lease is up.

Sounds positive especially with a six or seven speed gearbox. I love the look of the Sports4.
Let's hope Edmunds is right this time. They don't have a stellar record with predictions.

who am i to question something on the internet but...

1.the s2k engine is hand built and cannot be used in a mass production vehicle
2.the s2ks engine is based on a older f-series engine design not the current k-series.

that is all.

Yeah, you'll see the first forced induction Honda product. And it'll be called the RDX sporty ute, intended to take on the X3 and other competition headed for that niche. So maybe the TSX will get that same engine or the S2000's engine? And maybe they'll discontinue the S2K then and give its hot engine a new home in TSX? Isn't TSX small enough volume for that to be possible, from a supply perspective? OK, now I'm really speculating!

As much as I never thought I'd say it, I think the turbo would be better, if it has more low-end oomph/displacement. And some more ratios in the auto tranny sounds just great...especially when it cascades across the model lineup. Can't happen soon enough, especially for the RL!

Oh, I forgot about the rest of the world...typical American! I guess there aren't enough S2000 engines available after all...

So, about that spicy turbo...hope it uses a unique, reliable, efficient Honda engineering approach to forced induction!

I have to say after seeing the Concept sport 4 in action in a video on Honda's world website.........that thing definitely has mucho power!! It accelerated as if it had a nice V6 in it......and power clearly was in the 250hp range just from watching the driver drive it in the video......................So my gut feeling tells me that there is a Turbo 4 in the Sports 4 concept and I can't wait to find out if this is confirmed or not.
