It's time to replace the fuel filter on my gsr as recommended by the service manual. Which brands have people here chossen? Is there performance fuel filters that I would benefit from? Or will the local auto part store fuel filter suffice? My mods include the bolt ons I/H/E.

Thanx.

I'd recommend an OEM unit. A better fuel filter isn't going to get you any more performance, so the Honda unit should work perfectly fine. If you do decide to use an aftermarket filter, make sure to replace the washers on the fuel feed bolts (which come with the Honda filter). No sense in saving a buck and risking a fire.

Only benefit I can think of is the unlimited cleaning frequency if you're anal about it. My brother bought a K&N unit and at 5 times the cost of an OEM, even if you increase the frequency to 3 times the recommended, its still cheaper to go OEM. Oh and if I recall the K&N has a sorta bypass which either reduces filtration or none making the fuel line less restrictive but for race application only, which may be a festure to consider if you race.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go with the oem filter. Anyone know a good place online to buy them? I'm going to check monday @ the Honda dealership on prices but usually online stores are cheaper. Does Nippon make the oem filter?

I called Honda about the part and they told me the 98 integra has a lifetime fuel filter that doens't need to be replaced. For some reason I thought the filter had to be replaced at 60,000 miles. I checked the service manual and it didn't have the fuel filter being replaced at 60k. So I guess I don't need to replace it. Does anyone disagree that the filter is lifetime?

I disagree. Best bet would be to check a Honda shop manual for the service interval. "Filters" are not lifetime -- they'll need to be cleaned eventually.
