I'm buying a Type R in the next couple of weeks and I need to be able to carry my mountain bike. The best way is likely a roof rack. Has anyone tried one and if so what type or brand?

This is brilliant! Never heard of it but I think it's the best option for me since it doesn't change the look of the car when you're not carrying the bike. Thanks.

It seems like such a terrible idea to me. What if, the following:
1. Suction cups go orange while driving and you don't know
2. What if suction cups fail and don't go orange, but they are ready to come off?
3. What if they just come off the roof, and your bike kills someone?

All good points so I've read tons of reviews online now...take it for what it's worth.

1. Suction cups go orange while driving and you don't know
There are 3 suction cups with 210lbs holding power each. The chances of all 3 failing are slim I would think and just one should have enough holding power if two failed.

Same...
3. What if they just come off the roof, and your bike kills someone?
Same and we have bigger problems in winter with sheets of ice flying off vehicles to contend with.

They're designed to work together. If one comes off the other two won't hold a chance with the bike moving around.

To each their own, I would never trust suction cups implemented this way. Just because one can use suction cups this way, it doesn't mean that one should.
