Anyone have any pluses / minuses / preferences between the V1, Escort 360Max and the Radenso Pro-M?

I haven't used a radar detector in years, but one of my friends has an Escort 360Max and loves it. I have an ancient V1 and the main reason I abandoned it is because it kept falsing on me. Something failed on it. I sent it in, paid something to have it fixed ($200?) and then the same problem came back a year later, so I shelved it at that point. That was around the time all of our cops were getting instant on laser everywhere in GA so I decided it wasn't really worth it then.

I just pay more attention and use Waze to help me thwart traps in waiting.

I have a V1 from 7 years ago. Still running like new. With the proliferation of K band false signals, I programmed to disable the K band, which is fine because most smokeys I see are running on Ka band, of which I keep active along with Laser, which has some false positives.

Nevetheless, it works well and i use it alongside with Waze. I like it but may look else where if I was in market because it hasn't been as innovative to keep up with new technologies.

Some History. I had the original Escort (with analog strength meter) in the early 80. I then had two Passports in the mid 80's (one was stolen, so got another). In the late 90s, I got another Passports (I think an 8500) on E-Bay. All of them worked great with no problems. The last Passport had too many false alarms due to changing technology by the early 2010's. So, about three years ago, I got the Max360. Software Upgradable as new technologies are developed. Nice Color display. Boy...Am I ever disappointed.

The early Max360s may have the USB port, but Escort never developed the interface to upgrade it. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't detect my unit, but after Googling it, I found out that I am screwed. So, I get a lot of false alarms from the new radar systems on cars...New Hondas are particularly bad. Good think I have a 2013 Accord or it would be going off all the time.

Also, starting about 1.5 years ago, the display slowly started to dim. It's now to the point where it is difficult to see the display even at night. So, after a mere 3 years, I have a radar detector that I has a lot of false alarms, not software upgradable and can't see the display. All for a whopping $650 (or whatever it was at the time).

I might replace it some time in the future, but I don't know if I'll go with the new Max360C. VERY disappointing....

I forgot to add that the Bluetooth connectivity quit about 1.5 years ago as well. So, now I cannot connect it to my phone, not that I did on a regular basis anyway. But it was much easier to change settings on my phone than directly on the unit.

I use a V1 - saved me from at least one ticket while I was road tripping in the US.

I rarely use it these days since it falses a bunch in the city (too many automatic doors) and there is too much traffic for it to be any use anyways. Does anyone know if the V1 still reads new police tech, or have they introduced new band to avoid detection now? The police around where I live set up fakes as well so sometimes its hard to tell if its the V1 has missed a radar/laser or if its a fake.

Core technology of V1 and Police speed guns have not changed much in the last 10 years beyond the introduction of Lasers, which is rarely used.

Your V1 should work well for combating speed guns. Disable X band for the automatic doors, disable K band for traffic flow monitoring. Both X and K band are not used these days by cops.

Keep you Ka band on and your laser. Ka band catches the great majority of the police speed guns. Laser are rare but V1 tends to pick up some LEDs tailights and the toll booths. A lot of false alarms but once in a while, you will pick up a radar speed gun, at that point, the V1 job is to merely tell you get ready to pull over and hand over your license. This happens because lasers are aimed specifically one car unlike Ka, K, and X band which scatters the signal so you can pick it up before it is aimed squarely at you.

V1 is still a good buy, I wish it had GPS speed camera identified and talks to Cell phone for alerts via other users.

Lasers are rarely used? Maybe where you drive, but we seem to be swamped with laser enforcement here in Georgia.
