So within the last 8 months, 2010 CR-V's CEL came on 3 times. I changed both upstream and downstream O2 sensors. About 3-4 months later, CEL was back on with same P0135 & P0420 codes.
Had gotten those sensors off eBay, and thought maybe they were just badly made(generic brand). So I replaced them with OEM-spec(Denso & NTK) sensors.

This morning, CEL is back on. P0135 & P0420(OBD-II reads as permanent). P0420 seems to be a bad catalytic converter.

So, what are you guys opinions?

Sounds like you did things in the correct order and may be on the last step. Are you in an inspection state?

New cat is what I'm thinking too! FML, lol.

Yeah, I'm in NY. Just passed inspection in May. So I have enough time to replace it. But sooner, rather than later.

So I'm not sure how NY state inspection is but in NJ you basically have to just pass emissions at a state facility. they don't even open the hood.

NOTE. this technically isn't legal but go on ebay buy an 02s defouler for 12 bucks or whatever they are. Install it and clear the cel. At the very least it should get the cel to stay off till you can come up with the cash for an OEM cat. I highly recommend OEM over after market. But its your money not mine.

I hear ya! Definitely OEM from now on.

Well in NYS, if the CEL is lite, it's an automatic fail. Most inspection stations don't open the hood. They basically scan the system via the OBD port.
