Seems a LOT of engine for a cafe racer.

Then again, I really like the retro version of the CB1100.

So a CBX cannot be a bad thing. Maybe there'll be a full retro version as well.

I'd be kind of surprised to see this thing come out, but HMC has made some weird decisions in the past.

I would rather Honda make a mid-range, low cost bike to compete against the MT-07. These expensive bikes are good and all but Honda's North American lineup has a weird combination of very low end and very high end machines, and Yamaha has been feasting on the fat middle ground by itself for too long. All Honda really has are the 500s, but those are getting way too long in the tooth and could stand a displacement bump and general upgrades.

Honda, nobody gives a shit about this Cbx revival. You will sell 5 of them. This is what happens when Honda looses ground to competitors in a decaying industry. They revive old shit like interceptor and it doesn't sell. Yamaha is now the top dog for performance bikes. Honda is clueless and reverting back to old formulas hoping it would bring back the glory years. How.many Rc213 did you sell.
Exactly! For the price tag of the Rc213, you can buy an NSX, for which they sold an entire 5 NSXs in USA last month. Engineering unicorns don't sell and does nothing for marketing the brand wheN there is such a price disparity. Don't spend time and money on this CBX. I rather you spend your Yens on making CBRs powered by wimpy thumpers and twins. I think all the good bike engineers left Honda and joined Yamaha.

Nope...they went to Auto and the HondaJet. But I tend to agree with you about the CBX. While I liked the CBX of 39 years ago (had one for a year)...it does not make sense to try to resurrect it. It will be another non-seller in a long list of non-sellers from us. It will finally sell when they put $5,000 in Bonus Bucks on it.

I wonder if the move is to sort of combine the 650 and 500 line? I know they are wholly different engines and price points - but it seems like they both sort of miss the mark in one way or another and maybe theyd do better if they focused their efforts on one line? Im not a biker.

Certainly the new CB300R and CB1000R look great - the right engine and price with that kind of styling would seemingly be a legit competitor right off the bat.
