These initial numbers are so good makes me wonder what the numbers would be after a little Hondata flash? Any speculations?

With the torque curve plummeting at 4500 rpm the turbo just cannot supply enough air for big gains. Hondata will probably get another 35 ft lbs which would translate to 30HP.

That would be great. Another 30HP would put it just under 300 which would be great considering the good gas mileage as well.

Doesn't the Type R have a Bosch ECU? Wonder if this car is the same...Probably not given Hondata is messing with it, Hondata hasn't touched the Type R yet. In any case these are good starting numbers.. not sure how Church's dyno performs but it looks promising.

The CTR does use a Bosch ECU and Hondata is working on it. Results are promising.....

This sounds like good news! Would you know when we may get more information on this? Looking forward to what Hondata can do with the CTR!

I'm sure they'll announce it as soon as they are ready. But they already have a couple CTRs in house, so they are working hard on them and they have gotten into the ECU.

So how do you tweak this?

Put in a JTAG and dump the flash memory and see if some places belong to variables that can be changed? I just don't believe they would reverse engineer the code proper and rewrite it.

Also, just thinking, but how legal is this with the EPA? I realize that (thank God) the new Federal Administration is much more realistic on these things, but CARB is but a bunch of fascists!!!

I guess the hatchet has been buried. It used to be you wouldn't find a single Bosch component on a Honda product after all the fuel injection and ABS lawsuits of the '80's.

I posted the reflash results in another thread here:
