OK, I know this isn’t a fair comparison since the X3 is over $10,000 more than the RDX. But for the fun of it, I decided to test drive it. As expected, I loved it. And while the RDX is certainly more fun to drive than, say, a Lexus, the Acura just doesn’t have the fun factor that even earlier Acuras had. With BMW, you’re clearly a premium for both the name and the fun that comes with driving “the ultimate driving machine.” Im just curious if any of you have driven the 2018 model, what your thoughts were relative to the RDX, and how much extra do you think it’s worth.

I think you'd have to compare it to the NEW RDX, really. That might be a lot closer and make your choice harder!

It's a free market, so everyone will apply their own cattalactics to the price/value quandary.

Suffice it to say, see what a discount you can get on the BMW, if you like it that much more.

Hopefully the new RDX brings back SHAWD along with a turbocharged engine again. That should bring back some fun.

The 2018 X3 is no contest vs the RDX. Its just so much better. The 2018 x3 is what the RDX wants to become in the next 2-3 generations!

I saw a course it did with insane angles and it went in 3 foot deep water easily!

It seems a very capable Grocery getter. Plus seeing it do lap times is impressive in M package.

Australian born Calvin Luk to be precise, a Southern Asian if you like. :D

I've never sat in, let alone driven an RDX, but it would be interesting to get feedback from those that have driven both to comment. I'd bet that the RDX would compare favourably on packaging, comfort and mechanical durability fronts, at least!

The X3 is pretty fun as far as CUV's go.

OH YEAH. Thats for sure. Buy the Acura if your not leasing it for 4 years and plan to keep it longer then 4 years. Just lease the X3 and enjoy the expensive experience.
