After 141K miles I finally get to experience the drivers door lock actuator failure common on these TSXs and Accords.

I don't like fiddling with door handle cables as they are a PITA on the Vigor. I'm sure just as so with the TSX.

What does this normally cost at a dealer?

The frustrating pattern for the driver's door actuator on my 7G Accord was I never knew when it would work and unlock or lock all of the doors or not work at all. You manually unlock the driver's door to get out and it unlocks all four doors but when you lock the driver's door you have to then check that the other three did in fact lock. Good times.

I thought this replacement was pretty easy.

One of several YouTube how-to videos:

The hardest parts are unplugging the harness from the door switch panel without breaking the connector, avoiding scraping your hands on the door metal while reaching inside to get at the actuator, and reconnecting the rods from the interior and exterior door handles to the lock assembly inside the door. A comment to that YouTube video includes the good advice of cutting some vinyl tubing on one side and sticking it onto the edge of the metal opening you need to reach through. I'm not sure you need to remove the door switch assembly from the door panel because you might be able to access the harness connector from behind the panel with it pulled away from the door.

Piece of cake. I'd bet you would save $200 at least. I replaced my worn door checker at the same time.

I may have a second issue on the rise. While leaving chick-fil-a and rolling the window up, at about half way up it slowed down and started to hum before a loud plastic pop occurred. I could hear the plastic whatever it was bounce around to the bottom of the door. The window resumed it's up position as normal.

It still goes up and down as it did before but now curiously the door lock will not unlock with the remote but it will still lock. Before it was reversed; wouldn't lock but would unlock if manually locked.

Ugh. I really don't want to dig in my doors. I may let Acura have this one...
