Will the HRE wheels be optional??
Here is a shot from Instagram. These wheels look more like Acura's theme and possibly the stock wheels?

I agree!
For $150k, I rather have some forged HREs! Not this BS!

I'm tired of reading: "For $150K..."

For 150K you can't even buy a Lambo or a Ferrari and it's the starting point for a 911 Turbo.

If you want the HRE wheels you're going to pay for them.

Meh, I think they look rad.

They'd look stupid on a Civic, but they look cool paired with such an aggressive design.

The NSX will be one helluva value in the supercar world, no doubt.

Many Acura reviews are typical great...BUT they usually end with "...for the price/value."

This is a top-of-the-line, ultra premium, supercar.
The NSX should not be restricted with such thinking.

Honda bought alot of HRE wheels to use on NSX mules.

So on this long final development test(using Honda people who do not test cars for a better real world test....using non-gearheads).
They have a semi-truck full of wheels/tires,when they use up the tires, they just mount up a new set(wheel/tires) instead of changing the tire only.

If going unidirectional is a must, then I'd preferred something more subtle:

But hopefully Rolled is accurate and it's just temporary replacements...

There is a difference between restricting a product and asking a fair price for upgrades I think. I understand your point and fully agree that the NSX should be as unrestricted as it can be - but Acura shouldn't leave money on the table.

There's another wheel from this video... pause at 0:12 to see the rear right wheel as the second NSX exited the pit:

So why exactly did they need to change the wheels/tires? Flat tire? Wanted to try something new? Kept getting the two cars confused? Tires got worn out? If the tires got worn out, I have to wonder how many miles they lasted seeing as how they've probably traveled less than 6000 miles at this point. As I understand, they've gone from Ohio to Colorado so far, of course taking some detours along the way.

Accidents (flat tire, bent rims, etc...) could happen along the way... Also I'm guessing they're trying out as many wheel styles as possible to gain feedback. Being that the new NSX will be a low volume car they might want to offer as many customized wheels as possible as the cost (of the wheel) will not be cheap anyway. My gut feeling is telling me the HRE wheel is most likely optional for track or advance package....
