The original was special in many ways at introduction. I'll wait till release and hopefully test drive one for final judgment but based on paper specs and photos, this NSX is not cutting it for me. Design-wise, it's too busy on the exterior and doesn't have a cohesive enough design. Interior-wise, it's a bit too chunky and also not very cohesive in design - too many juxtapositions of shapes and protrusions that don't exude design excellence. performance-wise, we don't know yet but a turbo and hybrid setup is not appealing to me - maybe I'm just old school... Despite over 30 Honda/Acuras including 3 NSXs, a Cayman GT4 or Boxster Spyder are very tempting at the moment :)

Yes you are old school, the new NSX makes the old one look very plain, in fact it makes it look old school.

Yeah, despite the same old crew trumpeting sentiment that you won't find anywhere else online, the fact remains that the generation 1 NSX is so special it actually allowed Acura to rest on its performance laurels for 20 years. Let's see them try that again. Furthermore, I recall Honda claiming that the NSX moniker would never be used again. Sad part is, they had to reuse the name because that's the only thing that evokes trust from the Acura brand in terms of upper end performance.

From a styling perspective, it looks as if Acura literally updated the R8 before their own original creation.

The original R8 was an updated NSX straight up obvious.

Please this is a huge step up from the original and I loved the original and still do, but this new one is nasty, it looks the part of a supercar. The question is does it drive as well or better then the original.

Both are timeless beauties! And it's amazing how the form factor is pretty similar to the original. Absolutely gorgeous.
