Some really positive signs in here. HPD looks to be growing and it's influence will be strong in sports car racing into the future. It would be nice to see them hustle the new Wirth coupe/engine package and have it debut at Le Mans.

From the article, they are looking at a team running the existing grandfathered ARX with the existing V8 through LeMans, and the new Wirth Coupe after that.

There are only two up-to-date P1 ARXes: Strakka's and MuscleMilk.

The other option is to be the engine in someone else's New P1. I have heard that the two options there are Dome and Oak.

Yes I know but with an estimated completion date of June anyway, the right pushing in the right places could make a Le Mans debut very possible. It would be the best publicity move for HPD and the mystery team.

I wonder if we'll see an ARX run Le Mans next year? Wasn't there some rules change to help the NA cars but still not enough to make them competitive with Audi until they get the new engine & ERS in place?

Going on inference, I agree, it seems like we'll also see HPD power in a different P1 chassis as well.

Aren't there a couple teams currently in Grand AM looking to switch from DP to P2 for '14?

I think Lemans is a long shot for the new P1. It is clear that the engine is ready, though.

in GA, 8star said they will run a P2 and a DP, but specifically not a Honda P2.

Starworks is the obvious other option since they ran an HPD in P2 for the WEC last year. But they seem to be set where they are in DP.

The other option was Ganassi, but I think that's dead with their switch to Chevy in Indycar.

The only other option would be someone in DP now who has experience with either LMPC or P2 cars, and I am not sure I know any of those.

I think it is more likely that MuscleMilk will do a P2 car for one year, actually. With the idea that they would be the NSX factory team in 2015.

So that leaves WEC, etc. What's Strakka doing next year? If HPD has one team which takes the engine and ERS package in a different chassis we could have a P1 podium contender at Le Mans.
