Put the new 2.0 liter hybrid from the Accord in this and it would grab a lot of Prius buyers attention.

Including mine.

...from the guy who busts my balls constantly about buying a hybrid, and you are in the market for a fantasy version they will never build?

Priceless.

I'm afraid the engine bay won't fit with 2.0L + electric motor.

I think Insight will be axed after 5 model years (2014) then will be replaced by next-gen Fit hybrid. I'm actually very curious about their newest 1-motor hybrid system & the dual-clutch (SH-iDCD), and I believe the Mexico plant will manufacture the hybrid version of the next-gen Fit for North America.

They got the 2.2 diesel in the hatch somehow.
That is on the old fit platform - its just a carry over some say:

I agree. Killing the Insight and bringing a hybrid-only Euro Civic in both versions, hatch and tourer, in the US can be a serious win-win for Honda and a strong competitor for Prius, not to mention the cost cutting. I think the 1.5 updated ED hybrid will suffice, the Euro Civic is pretty light to handle it. As a matter of fact, they should do this all around the world.

the Insight/Clarity schnoz needs to go. I thought this two-tone bumper terrible design stuff would die with the current Mazda 3. Unfortunate!
