Toyota and Nissan is working on new Hydrid Sports Cars now and Honda didn't want to give them a early look at the system that the NSX will use.

They put the top model RLX sale date closer to the NSX release date.

Thanks!

Hope that they drop some info soon so people know whether or not to wait. At the very least if there are any cosmetic differences (metal accents instead of wood, please) or additional available features (heated steering wheel, please).

Ponder if part of the reason they are waiting is bc AWD would not be that necessary in the spring/summer/fall so they were holding off for winter.

If eSH-AWD proves to be that much of a huge step up and can be economically scaled to the TLX and other future vehicles, what will become of the mechanical SH-AWD?

Does anyone know which system is heavier?

The mechanical SH-AWD lives on in the MDX and I suspect the TLX will get it too, to separate it from the RLX. The TLX will also have a rumored 45 MPG hybrid most likely FWD and based on the Accord 2 mode system for the ES 350, Buick Lacrosse shoppers.

I think I somewhere that the eSH-AWD system is lighter than the mechanical version.

Makes sense the TLX would might get the mechanical version due to the ~45mpg hybrid version as someone else mentioned.

I'd imagine the MDX needs the mechanical version because it has to be tough enough to tow 5,000lbs.

I think the new system will be excellent to tow - nothing can break and short term torque will be huge.

Remember, what some call eSH-AWD is actually Sport Hybrid SH-AWD; the key word being hybrid. This involves a battery pack.

"eSH-AWD" will be the hybrid version, mechanical SH-AWD will be on non-hybrids.

SHSH-AWD? lol

There is no doubt they want to debut the system on the halo car. But this system has been demo'ed using last gen Accord. So the design isn't much of a surprised, the big question is the real world performance.

I am hyped on the NSX.
