BAR-Honda

Anthony Davidson is back in the saddle for Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda this week following his two-race stint for Minardi.

B.A.R's test and reserve driver kicked off the first day of testing for the team in Monza on Tuesday and clearly had the bit between his teeth as he notched up the second fastest time of the day – a 1m25.186s, compared with Michael Schumacher's lead time of 1m24.584s.

Patrick Lemarie was also in the car on day one and posted the eighth fastest time of 1m26.487s.

The Monza test is the first since the seven-week summer ban so B.A.R have a very comprehensive programme ahead of them as they prepare for the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix.

Anthony and Patrick got things rolling but race drivers Olivier Panis and Jacques Villeneuve are due to take over for days two and three. Their main focus was a Bridgestone tyre test combined with a Honda engine programme and some minor aerodynamic developments.

The day's running was frustrated by the arrival of heavy rain at lunchtime but Anthony still managed to complete 78 laps and the team gathered some useful initial data.

DHL Jordan-Honda

Jordan Grand Prix today begins a 2 day test at Monza, prior to the Italian Grand Prix on 15 September. This is the team's first opportunity to run the cars in a test since the middle of July, before the German Grand Prix.

Takuma Sato drives today with Giancarlo Fisichella taking over testing duty tomorrow. Yesterday, testing was hampered for other teams by very bad weather and a thunderstorm overnight has left the track very damp. Nevertheless, Jordan is hoping today's conditions will allow the team to get through the programme.
