These Michelins, while good for a smooth and quiet ride, was absolutely terrible at the drag strip. While decently sized at 215-50-17, they did not fare very well in the twisties. They were lacking in ultimate grip and the soft sidewalls resulted in a casual turn-in feel. They overheated quickly when pressed hard and grip suffered accordingly. On the constant switchbacks of the Dragon's Tail, the tires overheated quickly and the car started to understeer noticeably more. I had to back off to about 50% to let the tires cool down for a few minutes before I could go back to 80% driving. I can't stress more how much I think Acura should implement a summer tire or sports tire/wheel option package. On Type-S models there is a semblance of sportiness and a proper tire for these sporty intentions should be used. Notice that the wheel design looks pretty hard to clean too.

With the front right tire off, it's very easy to see the oil filter. You can easily access the filter by simply turning the wheel to the right. This is great for Do It Yourselfers.

I would rate the 11.8 inch diameter front rotors as just enough for this car to handle the typical target driver of this car. However, at higher speeds like those found in a track environment, I would not expect this brake system to be able to handle the 3461 lb curb weight of this car. The brake pad composition does not have a high enough coefficient of friction and the rotors are too small to provide fade free stops multiple times from high speeds.

Beefy 27.2 mm diameter x 4.5 mm wall tubular front anti-sway are used. Front double wishbone suspension is connected to a subframe for better isolation from NVH, but reduces steering feel.

Multi-link rear suspension

Type-S wheels are 17x7 w/55mm offset and are made by Enkei.

The stock exhaust system appears to be quite restrictive. Notice the 180 degree turn in the B-pipe. A weight savings and additional power can be realized here with a properly tuned aftermarket exhaust.
