Performance data/comments:

Test conditions:
Temp: 70 F
Humidity: 48%
Wind: Negligible
Barometric Pressure: 29.95 in
Altitude: 100 ft

Vehicle conditions:
Fuel: 3/4 tank
Driver: 215 lbs
Equipment: 10 lbs
Tire pressure: 33 fr / 30 rr

Avg 0-60: 8.84 seconds / Best 0-60: 8.57 seconds
Avg 5-60: 8.83 seconds / Best 5-60: 8.76 seconds

Notice that the acceleration time isn't that bad for a 127 hp D-series engine. No changes were made to the engine of the vehicle, but we wanted to see if the bigger wheels and tires would slow things down (we'll be testing a stock EX soon). We had to launch at between 4000-5000 rpm to get enough wheelspin for a good acceleration run. Sticky tires and a low hp engine can make a car hard to launch. Launching at 2000-3000 rpm resulted in bogs (which explains the noticeably higher average 0-60 time. We recorded low 9 second runs with a low rpm launch. The extra low end torque of the D17 also acquits itself nicely in the 5-60 test. Note that our best time was about 1 second slower than what we recorded for the Si. About what you'd expect being down 33 hp/14 lbs-ft in a 200 lbs lighter chassis (yes, the EX is 200 lbs lighter! Although with the wheels and body kit on the PP, we think the difference is probably closer to 150 lbs).

Avg 60-0 braking: 123 ft / Best 60-0 braking: 119 ft
Avg peak decel G: 1.069 G / Best peak decel G: 1.085 G

Good evidence here that there is nothing wrong with OEM Honda brakes. Its just the tires! With no changes to the standard disc/drum/ABS combo on the EX, we recorded very good stopping distances. The best 119 ft puts the Performance Package less than 10 ft off of what a stock S2000 can achieve. Not that we expect the Civic PP to be able to repeatedly stop in that distance without fade.

Peak lateral accel G (clockwise): 1.058 G
Peak lateral accel G (counterclockwise): 0.989 G
Avg lateral accel G (both directions): 1.024 G

Wow, excellent numbers. While we weren't able to record average G's, these numbers are indicative of a car that will pull an average of around 0.9 G or better on the typical skidpad test. We were surprised to find that the car pulled fewer G in the counterclockwise direction. Normally, with the driver loading the inside wheel you'll do better. Might have had something to do with our relatively new tires. The drivers side tires got scuffed in much quicker, which may have contributed to the superior clockwise number.
