We're all set up here at the Acura press conference, waiting for the 9:40 start time, when Dick Colliver will introduce the 2009 TSX. For those of you who have visited the New York Auto Show in year's past, you might be interested to know that Acura and Honda have relocated to the south end of the hall, centered between Mini and Ford's various marques, with Hyundai flanking the west side. This is a much better location and gives Acura and Honda exposure from 4 sides. Acura used to be wedged in the back corner, hidden behind Dodge.

We'll update as much as possible today. Normally there are at least two of us covering a show, but today I'm working solo.





9:44AM Press conference has just begun. Music is very loud. No real news on the TSX but here are pics of the reveal.








9:55A Acura has just announced an agreement with the W hotel group that involves cross promotion. W hotel customers will be able to test drive various Acura models and be chauffered by MDXs. More details on that later.

12:40PM Update I poked around looking underneath the rear of the '09 TSX and it doesn't appear that Acura left any room for a driveshaft or SH-AWD system (unless perhaps a reduced capacity saddle-type fuel tank is fitted). In talking with some folks, it was hinted that the 2.4L motor is considered the "base" motor and that there is something else in the pipeline. And it was very strongly hinted that the upgraded engine option WON'T have a turbocharger, nor is it likely to be badged as a Type-S version - it will simply have a more powerful motor. Look for this to be announced some time after the introduction of the 2009 TL.

The Acura stage has now been transformed and is now the Honda stage, and we're waiting for the 1:00 press conference when Honda will reveal the US-market 2009 Fit.
