Honda Thailand introduces the VTEC City
 Date: February 26, 2004 00:03

 Credibility Rating: N/A

With the success of the Honda City (Fit Aria/Fit Sedan in other markets) starting to slow-down, and due to tight competition from Toyota's Vios model, Honda Thailand introduces an upgrade to the City, the Honda City VTEC. Fitted with the same 110ps 1.5l SOHC VTEC engine as on the JDM Honda Fit 1.5T, the new City VTEC also retains the CVT gearbox with the 7speed mode. So now the City is no longer the loser in the specs and power-stakes, with 110ps coming in at slightly higher power than the Toyota competitor. More details at the Honda Thailand website.

Since Honda Thailand also serves as the HQ of Honda's Asia operations, we should expect to see this upgrade filter down to the rest of the Asian countries that have the City in their local line-up.
