Neal's Fantasy Factory Honda MRX Concept debuts ahead of NYAS!
Honda's apparently got something big brewing this week for their Wednesday afternoon press conference at the 2015 New York Auto Show. We think we have a pretty good idea of what it's all about, but Honda's been uncharacteristically tight lipped in the days leading up to the show, so maybe even we will be surprised.
Until then, here's a concept that Neal cooked up. He sees this mid-engined sports concept as being positioned to go head to head against the likes of the Porsche Cayman or Alfa Romeo's 4C.
The first iteration of this MRX concept image had the MRX painted in blue, but then Neal refined the design a bit and decided to change the color. In his words: "I remembered a story about Honda's first F1 car and how it was originally supposed to be painted gold. There was a problem with the paint and that's how Championship White was born - so I'm calling this "Championship Gold." I thought I'd try something different this time around - a thoroughly modern Honda sports car in a classic color."
Something like this could potentially be motivated by a version of the upcoming Civic Type-R's 310ps 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine.
