I borrowed a new map DVD to see what was new on it, if it's worth the upgrade.
What I didn't know is that it isn't just map data, it runs some software update.

Now when I plunk in my own DVD, it complains that it is the wrong version.

Is there anyway to revert the software back to the "older" version?

I'm pretty sure the TL system would work like the Accord's. Can't quite remember how to get into diagnostic mode... holding CANCEL MENU and INFO? Once there, I think there was a function to reboot te system. It will re-sync to whatever disc is inserted. Try searching at driveaccord or acurazine.

Found it. Thanks.

Basically the procedure is this:
1) Put in the old DVD, wait till the error message comes up about wrong version
2) Hold Map/Guide+Menu+Cancel, this will bring up the diagnostic mode
3) Select "Version", then "Download"
4) Wait for it to do its thing and re-install the old software

That's it.
There were all sorts of other interesting stuff in the diagnostic menu, but I didn't get a chance to play with it yet.
