Color me very impressed! The front end nicely integrates with the rest of the design. There's no gaping maw at the front, no obscene use of chrome bits. The wheel arches are subtle. The rear is uninspiring, but all car manufacturers seem to have difficulty making the rear cohesive.

Acura should bogart this design team and set them to work re-defining the smart-luxury brand's look.

The rear end is my least favorite part of the design as well. The hatch opening is rather high off the ground and small.

You may be on to something with the design team - in part.

While this is a more appealing exterior (IMHO) when compared to its closest cousin The Fit. The design appears to compromise a lot of function for flair. Interior dimensions and pictures are obviously needed to confirm that.

Wait, this is just a concept... It looks good now, but let's hold off on sending the design team to Acura until the production version is released... Honda will find a way to fuck it up...

I shudder to think how stupid this car would look with a "Power Plenum".

Actually a really nice design. It is a shame that we will never see this in the USA.

Kind of like we will sadly NEVER see the Sports4concept???

ugh...the Sports4concept was georgeous and instead we have the new TL, ZDX, and CrossTour.

That's what I was thinking when i opened this thread...

The Sports4 concept was exactly what the market was thirsting for...and exactly what Acura needed. But no-go.

Obviously there are certain things that don't translate from concept to production, (like 20" wheels on an economy car), but some of these designs are indeed inspired.

Actually, I was suprised to revisit the Sports4Concept. It has alot of the design language that IS in the current TL, but the TL bloats it up a bit. The power plenum IS in the Sports4Concept. Also, the very large wheel arches are there as well as the "paper folded" rear deck and trunk.

I think that the Sports4Concept should have been the TSX Gen 2.

Just MHO.

thats basically what ive been saying, the "design language" of the sport4 is currently in all the acuras now. from the plenum, to the rear tail lights. it was just a concept car.

Yes, there are elements of the "design language" visible. But let's not pretend that any current Acura looks like the Sports4.

For example, the plenum is not a design element most people liked about the Sports4, (especially Super-sized). Sticking the plenum and the taillights onto a Mr Potato-head might give it Sports4 design language, but the resemblance would end there.

It was the stance and flowing lines of the Sports4 that were beautiful...little of which made it to the TL or TSX.

Precisely.

It's as if they 'me-too'd' BMW rather than Audi and put those very flat-surfaced tops on the doors above the upper belt line, which make the cars look a bit tinny (TSX). Especially 'our' cars, where one side isn't quite tooled right near the B post and they look like they've had a repair...

If you don't get the sproing right, flame surfacing so doesn't work!
