The car definitely looks good. If they keep 95% of the design it will be great from the styling point of view.
However, as an ardent hybrid naysayer I will keep my verdict till we know driving expirience, price, and fuel economy. My beef with other hybrids has been the poor economic sense of the whole thing plus their, at best, marginal driving expirience. If this insight can cross the threshold of true $$$ savings, not in 7 years but from day 1, I could cut it some slack on the driving dynamics (but not much!).

Isn't extending the time between visits to the gas station worth anything? With it's 600-800 mile range, I stopped my Insight for gas only 14 times last year. Regardless of how much money you shovel over to your gas station, think about the frequent interruptions in your life and the long boring minutes you spent there. If you ever get stuck waiting in line for a pump, it's even worse!

Re long range, if, in the future, gas supplies are subject to interruption, as they recently were in the south, a plug-in would be even more desirable, assuming one's primary needs were within its electric range.
