The HSC was so superior in every styling way, seems like audi picked up on that.
So far this is the least attractive of the supercoupes, from Audi, Lexus, Acura, Nissan, and others.
Hopefully the real one will look much better.

You actually think the GT-R looks better than this?

Would you rather have:
A. HSC-inspired NSX with dedicated MR platform and all other Acura models stay with FF/Accord-based platform.
B. This NSX prototype with FR platform that will be shared with RL and possibly TL & TSX in the future.

I would definitely prefer to see something closer to the HSC. Much closer to looking like an NSX successor and keeps the NSX legacy in tact. Not to mention that this car looks expensive and exotic. I would have no problem pulling up against a Ferrari or Lambo with something that looks like this with the performance to match. That's the competition Honda is aiming for, yet with a car that looks like it cost's 1/3 of the price. When will people understand looks are as important performance in this market. You can't have a car that only performs awesome yet looks like your everyday sports coupe. The HSC does not in anyway look everyday.

Althought he tail lights are horrible IMO on the HSC, the rest of the car still gives me goose bumps when I see it.
Timeless design that still looks fresh today even 4 years after it came out.
The rear of the spy shot looks fresh and original enough, but the middle 1/3 looks severely like a 350Z, and the front 1/3 looks very corvette like.
IMO, this design actually looks more like a Supra replacement (although we know of course it isn't), than an NSX.
O-well. Maybe Honda will have a trick up their sleeve in the end.

I was thinking the same word... Timeless. damn u honda... =(

The HSC just needed larger side intakes and a revised rear tail lamp assembly and it would be perfect. Honda could shoe horn a small displacement V8 or V6 TT and call it a day. Keep it light to make it right.

What a disappointment. Its too late anyway. If they want to save something. Honda/Acura should bring this car as a GT version of the NSX and give it a separate name (Acura CL?). Simultaneously they should bring out the HSC as the NSX successor. I have no idea what is wrong with Honda. If they want have a sporty image why they keep neglecting their sporty line up.
What happened to the Prelude, CRX, S2000 successor????
The Power of dreams?!?!? Yeah, right...

Yes , I do granted this aint the real thing.
This looks like a cross between the 350z and supra with a largwe front for the v10.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Acura made so many knee-jerk moves in terms of choosing a platorm and design direction because they decided not to build upon an already great car for 10+ years. That's no one's fault but Honda's. The HSC with a rear-end that payed homage to the NSX would have been the "perfect" update to Honda's sporting legacy. I think and though it might not have aided with the platform developement for the RL and TL, it could have served as a test-bed for the V-8 the RL needs. The main problem I see with the HSC design is that it's forcing the issue of a conventionally sloped rear windshield. Why they would develop the HSC with a 300hp V6 is beyond me. The HSC's front design and mid-engine setup with the ASC's rear end would have been a match made in heaven in terms of looks. This design shown here is not going to do it. And I realize its just rendering, but it is public making it open for criticism.

I will take that bumble bee on crack following in the true NSX lightweight mid engine exotic legacy over a Aston Martin wannabe on every illegal substance ever.
It's not ugly, but it sure aint good looking, back to the drawing board I say.
Of course it is only a photoshop of a prototype, so good things can happen before it wil be released.
I was truly hoping for something that would make the entire Autoworld stand up and take notice like the Original NSX, or even the Audi R8 or Ferrari 430, and both of those, spank this prototype in styling, elegance, proportions, and I think an updated HSC would spank those two.
Who knows Honda may bring out a true exotic mid engined NSX successor a few years after this gran tourer GTL10.

This thing is awe inspiring everytime I see it. Simply amazing and timeless as one put it. Someone else in one of these threads made an important distinction that all of us (including Honda/Acura) needs to remember: the new FR "NSX successor" as people have deemed it, is a GT car, not an exotic. The HSC is an exotic, in the spirit of the original NSX.

god that design is knee weakeningly good. Just drop in the turbo kseries or a 270 hp j30/j32 and sell it for 35k-40k. im sure it would sell like hotcakes and be profitable if made to be an affordable sports car, ie use of steel instead of aluminium. its too gorgeous to waste!
