Is the 25% increase mostly newer gen Accords or a byproduct of selling the old 7G platform at clearance prices.

Well, this is the 2nd full month for the Accord, so I think it's safe to say that performance is really of the 08 model.
Sure there may still be a few 07 on the lots, but they aren't driving sales, specially if you consider that most of them were washed away with August/September sales. Just in August there was a 40% increase of sales (only 07's) and September also passed the 30% bar with the 08's selling for about half the month.

Nobody knows for sure how it is going to evolve, but so far, the Accord is indeed performing pretty well, outpacing the past gen. by about 25% (in its two first full months). If they manage to keep the pace through 2008, they could indeed hit the 400k mark again. They won't be far this year.
