Look out for the latest Motor Trend. It features a Comparo on these new 2007 cars. What I like is they picked a Sedan EXACTLY like mine. I don't have the issue right in front of me (so not sure if the Civic has the HPT or not), the Motor Trend is still at work.

Again Sentra gets knocked for that it's lateral G's are good, it has quite a bit of body-roll. Also negative comment on the seats compared to that of the Civic (the Civic's are an equivalent to the excellent ones in my Classic 91 SE-R!), The non communicative Shifter which feels "long, loose and latex sheathed"(whereas the Civic is light and crisp and direct), the gimmicky stuff the Sentra has (e.g. Red seatbelts which turn you into an "instant crossing-guard" when worn-LOL g-meter etc...). The big drawback on the Sentra's behalf too is the cheap torsion beam rear suspension set-up.
They did like the Sentra's Steering feel and Sentra's low end torque. If Nissan had gotten the important details correct, they could have quite a winner on their hands, but the important things evidentally aren't important enough for Nissan. When will they wake up???
Funny thing is Nissan enthusiasts are once again shouting at how Honda must be paying these magazines off. All that proves to me is that they have not driven one of these Si's. I have owned nothing but Nissans since 1985 and still am a Nissan Enthusiast, but Honda got my hard earned money this time around.
I've driven both cars, hell, I own one of them and the Civic Si they tested is IDENTICAL to every detail as mine. I agree to all of their findings but one....and it is not Civic related... The Shifter in the 07 SE-R Spec I drove, however instead of it beeing loose and latex feeling, it was stubborn, stiff, clunky and lacked any feel at all. FAR Worse than the one in my 2002 Maxima.
It amazes me how close the results of the Civic to that of my 2002 Maxima. Even the Sentra isn't too far off.
I am really enjoying my 2007 Civic Si Sedan....It's an Amazing car for it's class.
Thanks for the video! I have always had a soft spot for Nissan, especially for the Skyline and the v-specs, but they never seem to get it ...just...right!
