I ran a replay of a decent hotlap around mugello. You may notice the car's in 8th place - since the demo is limited to 3 laps I generally let all the cars leave me behind from the start, and then I turn around and go back two turns so I can get a flying start on the first lap (and thus 3 hot laps unencumbered by traffic)
sorry for the dodgy vid quality - I was playing this in the family room and just aimed the camcorder at the set during a replay. And the "extra" noises you might notice are due to my dog flapping about on the floor. I have some more footage I recorded directly this morning, but I can only capture SD format.

the next video has nearly completed the encoding. I'll upload it and post it as soon as it's ready. The next one is a full 3-lap race from my incar perspective. This one was captured directly from the composite outputs of the 360 so the capture quality is a little better though it was rendered in SD. Overall it was a pretty clean run though not my quickest laps. A couple of mistakes here and there cost me some critical time but the final lap was still a respectable 1:06.229.

Here's the 2nd clip. This one's captured directly from the composite outputs. It's a full 3-lap race @ mugello - Forza 2 Demo, Class C

This looks great! How does it stack up to Gran Turismo 4, Jeff? Like car physics wise and stuff

Well, I thought Forza 1 already pretty much surpassed GT4 in terms of physics and what not - this is way better than that even.
I just got a 37" LCD to play it on - WOW!!

Man, that looks hot. When I eventually get a Xbox 360, that'll be one of the first games I buy. Maybe it was just something with the video, but I swear I saw transparent red lines in the corners, showing you the best line to take. Are those actually there? If so, cool.

You'r eyes werent playing tricks on you, that is the game's suggested driving line. It shows green when you are at an estimated good speed, yellow when you are aproaching what it considers near the edge, and red when you should be on the brake.
It is a pretty decent aid in helping get a feel for the track sometimes, but like anything over use the aid and it can hinder your progress.
I'm with you about the 360. So far the only compelling reason I see for getting one is b/c Forza 2. I haven't got one yet, but once it comes out and I get settled into my new home it will be on my list.

Yeah, that's the suggested driving line. Forza 1 actually had it too. You can switch it on and off. New on Forza 2 is an additional mode - one is a full time suggested line and the other one is braking only. I find it very useful when you're trying to get the feel for a new track and/or car. Even though the simulator is very realistic you don't get ALL of the sensory feedback that you would in a normal car, so those lines help me gauge my speed. Once I learn the track and how my car responds to it I pretty much ignore those lines - I just hadn't bothered switching it off when I ran those laps. I love the feature though because in past driving sims I felt like I couldn't quite figure out what I'd be doing wrong through certain segments of a track.
