i have a 98 acura Integra GSR. i barely changed the oil about 1000 miles ago and i already had to add another bottle of oil to it due to a low level. i used castrol synthetic blend 10w-40 grade oil. i recently noticed it was leaking some oil through the head/block gasket, but even then, the oil is still very black in color, meaning it is burning it up. my dad's mechanic friend told me that i should use a thicker oil so that it would last longer and/or that i should also put in some Lucas oil stabilizer with it to help "seal some of the leak." the cars has about 117,000 miles on it. so what do you guys think? any ideas would help. thanks alot!
