Well I have been in the works for a week now changing my headlights. I am installing TSX projectors into the factory headlights. Here are some PICS of the progress. I should have it done by Saturday
looks great! Do you have any room for making adjustments up/down/left/right if need be ? or is it permanent that way - and if so how did you manage to ensure correct positionment.
The TSX shroud has too much space in between. I used ABS plastic to make the form. The 06' ONLY has up/ down adjustments. So you have to make sure the cutoff line is straight. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. The projector is bolted to the reflector
!~#@! I was hoping the TSX shroud would fit. If only there were a chrome piece that could fill the gap and make it look OEM... something like the chrome pieces/shrouds in the Legend headlights.
Caveman, while you're that far into the project, don't forget to put some real horns on the car. The surplus OEM Honda Express moped horns are some of the saddest horns I've ever heard.
In addition to the pictures, is there any chance you'll do a full write-up of the project, including prices, build time, and part sources? Also, are the new lights auto-leveling?
TSX are some of the best single xenon projectors made, aside from perhaps S2000 projectors. He pulled the projector-- the round lens assembly that looks like an eye and all its components that are designed to evenly spread HID lighting without producing excessive glare-- from a TSX, and he retrofitted it into his Civic headlamp, which is designed for halogen lighting.
He also installed the ballasts, igniters, and bulbs that you find as original equipment on HID-equipped cars. So, now he has xenon lights and won't be calling needless attention to cops, nor shining copious amounts of glare in people's eyes. Unfortunately, installing auto-leveling motors and whatnot is next to impossible in these cases, but if you aim them correctly (read: not pointed at the ground, as many people end up aiming their plug-n-play HID), they produce superior lighting under most circumstances.

Eh, not entirely. A good number of the less-important stock parts on my old Maxima were Denso as well. Guess it's just cheaper and easier to get some stuff from the competition...
Here is a run down on costs and time I put into this.
First off this is the 3rd set of HID I have installed into my cars. I have them in my 01' Accord and 94 Civic EX and now My 06' Si.
The Cost. eBay is your friend, I get all of my parts off of it.
If you look around you can piece stuff together. I got my ballasts from Toyota Siennas and Projectors from TSX.
Ballast cost me $125.00
Projectors--$150.00
Harness--$25.00
If you have a spare car to use while you are doing this it is much easier. This took me around a week to do. Maybe 10 hrs total.
There are like (10) snap tabs holding the cover on the bottom
(2) screws on the end by wheelwell. (5) bolts by the bottom wheel 10mm, and (2) hex on the radiator support. Pull and it will come off. The headlight has (5) 10mm bolts. (2) on the bottom, (1) on the side and (2) on top
1st to tear the light apart you need a heat gun. This is to melt the glue and it peals apart. There are (3) little hex screws that have to come off of the headlight. It takes around 5-10 min per light.
Mounting the projector. You have to cut the back of the reflector off. A Dremal is very handy for this work. Grinding and sanding. Make the hole about as big as the back of the headlight. Drill holes and make sure the projector is STRAIGHT. To ensure this you need to put the reflector back on the headlight and aim. It is easier to make the holes a little bigger, thats to make it move. it aligns better that way. once you get it straight, bolt it to the reflector. I used ABS plastic to cover the projector.
My buddy has an 06' EX, I will do a comparison pic of the two.
I am going to do his car too with the same setup.
Was the cost for one of each part or both parts together? I only ask because I've seen some of those parts go for those prices on Ebay for single pieces. Thanks. Looks fantastic. I'm going to do the same thing, but I'm going to move the projector closer to the high beam and add an accent light next to it. I'll wire the accent light to the corner light/turn signals.
Also, are you using a high-temp paint? I'm thinking of 'glassing the lights but I'm trying to find a high-heat resistant resin. Otherwise I'll have to improvise.

Prices are of sets. It might be cheaper to buy singles then make a set.
Fantastic! Congratulations. You win a prize for being the first.
Would you please honor us with cut-off pictures too? I'd love to compare halogen reflector cut-off, a plug-and-play HID kit thrown in there, and the HID projector cut-offs (ulterior motives aside... honest). Hopefully, the Civic lenses are thin enough that they don't distort or blur the sharpness and color of TSX's.
